A lot can happen in a week.


So, I passed. Yay! Did the 25 in 4.26, not my fastest time but as I'd failed to eat anything after breakfast that day I think I did pretty well (pro tip. Feed before skills test. No excuses. Especially on one of the hottest days of the year). Initially felt like I was going to throw up/ pass out from the heat/faint from lack of tastiness but I pushed through. Calico smack was my assessor and gave me some really good advice and pointers on my hip checks and t-stops (yeah, they still need work) once it was done.

Sadly, I've not had a chance to train or go to the gym in the last week, due to lots of boxes and things needing packed up, cleaned, sorted, and what have you. My new room is ENORMOUS and living with other derby people (a player and a ref no less, dinner conversations will be fascinating round here!) is going to be quite exciting, and will save heaps on petrol.

I get a key for the gym at work on pay day (only $20, but this has been an expensive pay round) and then I'll back to early mornings and weights. The team draft happens in a month or so, so I have to really work to be good enough to try and get in....
