Things That Are Good

No real Big Message in this post, just had a tough couple of weeks and decided that what was needed was a bit of cheering myself up. This has taken two forms, one was taking a great big concrete pill (num num num), and the other was just listing up some stuff which has been pretty awesome.
  1. Ordered an NZRDT t-shirt from Print Mighty. Bright green, to go with my new Chuck Taylors (who'd have thought a 1-day deals website would sell something I wanted to own!)
  2. NZRDT training on the 13th, Richter City are coming up to play the All-Scars on the 20th, then we're on break...
  3. ...then I'm on HOLIDAY, DAGNABBIT! Two weeks with my mum and dad, going around the south island watching the Scotland pool matches. I've not seen my dad since 2009, my mum since Easter 2010. It's going to be so good to see them, I can't begin to describe.
  4. I put my money down for the Barry Curtis Classic 10k run in October. Doing this one instead of the Auckland Quarter marathon because a) it's cheaper and b) it's not the morning after PCR Vs Adelaide AND one of the biggest birthday parties of the year. Not been as onto my training for this as I could have been recently, but now that I have a definite date I can get back into it
  5. BMI is now down to 26.5. My goal was to get into the Caucasian healthy BMI range before the summer and I'm getting pretty close now. Not doing anything specific, just eating healthy and working out as much as I can. I'm getting a decent bikini as an early Christmas present when my folks come over and I think I might actually wear it over the summer without recourse to board shorts (not that there's anything wrong with that)
  6. Spring is definitely considering happening sometime soon. It's still cold but....yeah. Spring. Then summer. Then awesome.
  7. I get a payrise next pay, a decent one too. Being a public sector worker does have occasional benefits, and it means that I'll be able to get a deposit for my own place even sooner.
  8. The theatre reviewing jobs are still coming through pretty regularly, I've seen some pretty great stuff (and some not-so-great) and there's lots coming up in the next week or so that I'm really looking forward to.
  9. At this moment in time, minor bruising and niggles aside, I'm uninjured. Woah.
  10. Derby continues to make me extremely happy every time I put my skates on .
Not a bad ten that, not bad at all....
